Some aspects of the biography of Giovanni Francesco Brusati (1432/33-1477) are here highlighted:
his relations with Bartolomeo Roverella, uncle on his mother’s side, archbishop of Ravenna and
cardinal of St Clement († 1474), who influenced his ecclesiastical career and encouraged him to the
humanistic culture. An inventory drawn up after his death (Subiaco, Bibl. Statale Monumento
Nazionale di S. Scolastica, Archivio Colonna, III BB LIX, n° 67) includes Brusati’s personal goods
and library. An annotated edition of it is provided.
