Carlo Gualteruzzi was the executor of Pietro Bembo and the postumous publisher of his works. A document in the Archivio di Stato di Fano reveals that Gualteruzzi offered as gift a printed edition of Historiae Venetae to the council of his hometown in 1552. A research in the Biblioteca Comunale Federiciana of Fano confirms that the book is still preserved in that library and that there is another volume, a copy of Bembo’s Historia vinitiana, also given by Gualteruzzi to Fano’s confalonieri.
