Sigrid Krämer

After the death of Bernhard Bischoff in 1991 his scholarly bequest was not assigned to an institution, as he died intestate. So his inheritance was dispersed and reached many different places. Here is described how Bischoff used to work on the whole. Then libraries and other places are listed, where his bequest is now scattered: the Monumenta Germaniae Historica and the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek in Munich, the Universitätsbibliothek Leipzig, the Schøyen Collection (Spikkestadt, Norway). The materials here discussed include his papers, letters, notes and fichier, and his large collection of books, with a smaller one of medieval manuscripts and fragments.
